MOTH Gathering, Sarayaku Territory, 2024

O Encontro de 2024, foi co-organizado pelo Povo Indígena Sarayaku e realizado em seu território. Este terceiro encontro anual foi construído a partir da estrutura construída pelos dois encontros anteriores. Mantendo o tema geral "MOTH na prática", o encontro de 2024 foi adaptado a dois novos focos. Primeiro, como este encontro foi co-organizado pelo Povo Sarayaku e realizado em seu território, o encontro dedicou um tempo considerável às iniciativas do Povo Sarayaku — incluindo a Iniciativa Kawsak Sacha, ou Floresta Viva. Segundo, o encontro explorou em particular o papel das artes na condução do paradigma MOTH — razão pela qual o encontro de 2024 incluiu um grupo significativo de artistas, de músicos a artistas visuais, poetas, ceramistas e muito mais.

The 2024 Gathering, meanwhile, was co-hosted by the Sarayaku Indigenous People and held in their territory. This third annual gathering built off the scaffolding laid by the previous two gatherings. While keeping with the general theme of “MOTH in practice,” the 2024 gathering was tailored to two new points of focus. First, as this gathering was co-hosted by the Sarayaku and held in their territory, the gathering spent substantial time on the Sarayaku People’s initiatives—including the Kawsak Sacha, or Living Forest, Initiative. Second, the gathering explored in particular the role of the arts in driving the MOTH paradigm forward—which is why the 2024 gathering included a significant cohort of artists, from musicians to visual artists to poets to ceramicists and beyond.
