Embracing the feeling of uncertainty to experience other possibilities of walking in this world.

Hoy el miedo is collective. El miedo to breathe, to shake, to hug, to touch, to kiss, to be with others. Where do we walk?

Today I walk to be at the sea. Feel the water, listen to the wind, touch the land and dejar salir el fuego.

My name is Elena, I am a mother, mother and artist.

If you know me, you know that I believe in the transformative power of art.

Living life through poetry, diving into the little things and memories, dancing to the differences, believing in the infinite possibilities of what we are. I draw, escribe, dance.

I was born in a city where the river meets the sea. The sea has always had a marked presence in my life, it is part of my artistic creation. Finding the sea is being at home, this house that has floating and migratory roots and that moves according to the sea.

And thinking and creating around the sea I was selected to be part of an art residency, aboard a sailboat. An experience of creation and freedom, at sea, in a community called Sea Beyond.

It will be 15 days of creation. 15 days discovering other possibilities of life. 15 days feeling the beings of the sea, opening paths, illustrating boats filled with utopian gardens. ships of the future.

we will sail along the Bay of Camamu, in the state of Bahia.

And to be able to navigate I need you to support me.

We will be a crew of approximately six people. Tres artists women: Julia Vargas (SP), visual artist: @julialola , Bruna Hey, artist from la cocina: brunahey.com _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_y yo, Elena, visual artist.

It will be a residence where we will live together and unite our knowledge as artists to create, each one from their own practices and investigations. An onboard experiment. The residence goes from the 1st to the 15th of October, 2020.

There are poetic records through videos and photographs and I create a record book, with drawings and writings, of daily discoveries and inspirations. I plan to take a special bag with the materials that are basically: laptops, ink, gouache, brushes, 3 notebooks and material for making collections.

Feel more than think. Opening paths so that these people, like you, who are more sensible and who come to life through imagination and intuition, also have a voice in the world.

how can you help

The challenges are everywhere, but my biggest challenge is in time. Having time to create, think, process and plan is a place. Participating in a residency is the possibility of having this time, it is a process of freedom where the artist lives a unique experience to expand his art.

Soy madre de dos hijos pequeños y since hace un tiempo trabajo, creo y vivo de mi trabajo como artist. Es throw me into the abyss, trusting that everything will pay off well.

I am trained in graphic design, work with animation, web design and also work as an illustrator. I plan to use my skills and wisdom to bring this experience to life as soon as I return home. Among my plans is to have a book and an exposition.

I need to retreat USD$ 4000 to finance the work material (dibujo materials and un cellular to make video), as well as food, accommodation, transport and production and execution time of the experience lived in the residence, from vuelta en House.

We will sail through Camamu Bay, in the state of Bahia.

It will be a residence where we will live and join our knowledge as artists, to create together each one from their individual practices and research. An experiment on board. The residency runs from October 1st to October 15th, 2020.

I will make poetic records through video and photographs and I will create a logbook, with drawings and writings, of the discoveries and daily inspirations. I plan to take a special suitcase with the materials that are basically: pencils, pens, gouache, brushes, 3 notebooks and material to make collections.

how can you help

Challenges are everywhere, but my biggest challenge is time. Having time to create, think, process and plan is a luxury. Participating in a residency is having the possibility of having this time, it is a process of freedom where the artist lives an experience to expand his art.

I'm a mother of two small children and for a while I've just been working, believing and living from my work as an artist, but it's throwing yourself into the abyss trusting that everything will work out.

I have a degree in graphic designer, I worked doing animation, web design and I also work as an illustrator. I plan to use my skills and wisdom to bring this whole experience to fruition once I return home. Among my plans is to make a book and an exhibition.

I need to raise USD$4000 to finance the work material (drawing materials and a cell phone to make a video), as well as food, accommodation, transport and production time and execution of the experience lived in the residence.

I plan to carry a special bag with the drawing materials: pencils, nankin, gouache, paintbrushes, 3 sketchbooks and some materials to collect rare things.

I need to collect USD$ 4000 to finance: the art materials (drawing materials and a celphone to make video), as well as food, accommodation, transportation and production time when back home.
